(WDNG) – The Anniston police officer hospitalized after a hit-and-run in January has been released from the hospital. Anniston Public Information Officer Aziza Jackson on Tuesday said Anniston police Officer Michael Hornbeck is at home after spending nearly a week in the hospital.
Hornbeck suffered a broken pelvic bone on the evening of Jan. 22 when he was struck by a vehicle on McClellan Boulevard while directing traffic. Jackson says the 19-year veteran of the police department will have to undergo three weeks of intensive physical therapy at home but says he is doing well.
