Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley on Thursday said the Chief Ladiga Trail and the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail will each receive $100,000 for planned expansions. The 25-mile Coldwater Mountain trail system will see a six-mile extension, according to a Thursday release from Bentley. The 33-mile Chief Ladiga Trial will see a nearly three-quarter-mile paved extension.
The grant money is coming from Federal Highway Administration Funds and is being administered through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
