ANNISTON – Police are investigating the shooting death of an east Anniston dog. Police responded to a residence on the 600 block of Jewell St. shortly after midnight early Friday morning after a resident awoke to gunfire and found their white pitbull yelping in pain, according to a police statement from Anniston police Capt. Allen George.
Police arrived and found two rounds struck the dog’s abdomen and a third round went through a bedroom window of the residence, according to the statement. The dog was transported to an Anniston veterinarian where it later died. Anniston police continue their investigation on Friday evening.
